Experimentation with oilpaint.
This was one of my installations, for a final piece in my Foundation Diploma.. we were given a brief on Conceal and Reveal. I chose to react in a way of consideration of secrets and the inclusion of our residential to Paris, and the Deyrolle museum.
As a pathway choice and in relation to ‘secret’s and truth’, I studied about masks and how people hide who they really are, to cover their real personalities and life choices. This 3D sculpture really represented the structure of change and development through time.
These mask’s that I have created, I think give a very strong representation of hiding emotions.
I wanted to keep the colour of them white, in effect of how we connote colour’s and the representations of people’s perceptions.
In influence of Jaume Plensa at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, I wanted to produce mood masks, so you can replace your emotion; making them interactive with the viewers.
We had been given a project to present in the park, with this I wanted to collect and research about the realities of fairy tales and folklore. So my journey of Little Red Riding hood continued, creating and designing my own characters throughout the project and curated photo shoots with inspiration of Paula Rego in an organic response.
